Guider

A platform for facility management and real estate development sector. The system is making work easier and faster.

About

We wanted to create a solution for the most common issues in real estate development - communication troubles, task management and  working with external subcontractors. An app that’s tailored to specific needs of the industry. Guider is cloud based app, accesible from any device. Users can collaborate directly on construction site using their phones and tablets.

Problem

While being one of the most profitable, the real estate development industry is still lacking tools that could help with organizing and managing new and existing investments. Working closely with few companies from the sector gave us insights into the most pressing problems.

There’s too many tools
Architects and construction managers are using many different platforms to communicate, send files, sign documents and plan meetings. We wanted to create a place where all these task could be done within one app.

It’s hard to access files
Popular file sharing methods usually don’t allow to quick view files specific for the construction industry. Our app allows for quick access to most important file types like BIM, DWG and SVG.

You can’t collaborate in real time
Sending documents over and over to update changes can be a very long and tiring process. We’re bringing real-time collaboration on projects to solve this issue.

Documents are all over the place
Guider works like a wiki page for a project. The company can keep all the important files, calendars and maps in one, easy to access place.

My role

I was responsible for the user experience, design, prototyping and testing for this project. I was working closely with 1 product designer during the whole project.

Technology

Guider is cloud based app, accesible from any device. Users can collaborate directly on construction site using their phones and tablets.

Functionality

Guider has four sections - files, plans, tasks and map. Each one gives you access to your files and data. You’re able to store various files in clear folder structure. Planning tasks is easy with app’s task groups where you can assign them to specific person and upload needed info. Map and plans give you easy overview of construction sites in progress, you can review them and place comments and tasks on the exact location where work needs to be done.

Testing

Our tests included workers from construction companies as well as other people. We have prepared a prototype and asked the interviewees to execute few easy tasks.
